Are you looking for the best Professional Home Use Skin Care Products?
Most of us spend a lot of money on trying different skin care products to use at home and they rarely do what they say they’ll do so you end up with lots of half-used cleansers, toners and moisturisers in your bathroom cupboard. It’s frustrating as most products say they will moisturise your skin, remove fine lines and wrinkles, plump your skin, eradicate spots or greasy areas but they rarely do what they say.
Professional home use skin care products can’t be brought in a chemist or department store as they are made for estheticians who have the qualifications and experience to assess your skin and recommend the best products for you. Don’t be fooled by nice packaging, expensive products and ingredients that promise your skin something that you won’t always get. The PH and percentage of active ingredients are many different high street products won’t be the same as what a professional esthetician can provide you with and isn’t always what your skin actually needs. Professional Estheticians undergo extensive training and will understand and believe in their products so can advise you on which ones to choose and what skincare regime you should follow.
Using professional home use skin care products as recommended by your esthetician will provide you with the maximum benefits and a new look and feel to your skin.
The environment and your lifestyle also has a big impact on the look and feel of your skin so a good diet with lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, plenty of water throughout the day, reducing your alcohol intake, following a skin care regime and ensuring you use a product that protects your skin from UV rays will also make a difference.
The Three Steps to Good Skin Care
- Cleansing
- Toning
- Moisturising
The goal of your skin-care routine is to tune give your skin anything it is lacking so it looks and feels the best it can be, targeting any troublesome areas. Everyone’s skin changes as they get older so the skin care products that you have always used may no longer be giving your skin what it needs so always remember to change your products when you start noticing changes in your skin. A good and experienced esthetician will be able to advise you on the products you should use at different times and will adapt your skin care regime as your skin improves or changes. Always give new products time as it will take days, weeks to really see the benefits.
A glowing complexion, especially as our skin ages, takes time, a regular skincare routine morning and night and often weekly, bi-weekly or monthly treatments to give it a boost and to keep it looking healthy. Always remember, a good skincare routine is essential to ensure the health of your skin and to prevent and help the signs of ageing.
Your Twice a Day Essential Steps in your Skincare Routine:
Cleansing – Use a facial liquid soap as a starter to remove and start to freshen your face. Use warm water and a soft flannel to wet your face then gently massage the soap all over your face and neck then remove with warm water. Whilst your face is still wet gently massage a small amount of cleanser all over your face using your fingers to gently massage it into your face in a circular motion. Avoid the mouth and eye areas. Continue this for about 30 seconds and then rinse thoroughly with warm water or use a cotton pad to remove and pat the skin dry with a clean soft towel. There are so many cleaners out there on the market and each cleanser will have different textures, consistency and ingredients so always take advice from your esthetician as to which professional home use skin care products you should use. A good cleanser will remove make-up, dead skin cells, oil, dirt, and other types of pollutants from your face which helps to unclog pores and prevent skin conditions such as acne, dry or oily areas.
Toning – A lot of people with dry or ageing skin think that using a toner will make their skin worse, however, this isn’t the case, toning your skin after cleansing helps to remove any excess dirt, traces of oil and makeup and corrects and balances the pH of your skin as well as closing the pores that have opened from the warm water and cleansing process. As with cleanser, every toner and its ingredients will help dry or oily skin, calm redness, prevent blackheads or whiteheads and acne flare-ups. Add some toner to a cotton pad and pat the toner-soaked cotton pad across your entire face. Pay extra attention to the forehead, nose and chin if these areas are frequently oily and avoid the mouth and eye areas. Don’t be tempted to skip this step, toner removes residue, such as chlorine and minerals in tap water and helps your skin to retain its moisture.
Moisturising – Add a small amount of your facial moisturizer or serum into the palm of your hand and then use your fingers to gently massage the moisturizer into your skin using circular upward movements. When applying moisturizer around the eyes, use the tips of your ring finger to gently massage it in and don’t drag the skin as you moisturise. Again there are many moisturisers on the high street that claim to give you the results you are looking for but your esthetician will advise you on the professional home use skin care products that will give your skin the things it is lacking. Always use a more intensive moisturises at night and a moisturizer with a built-in sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher in the day. If you are prone to spots or acne breakouts then don’t be fooled that you don’t need a moisturiser as your skin always needs added moisture you just need to use the products that have the active ingredients in to suit your skin and not give you any spot or sensitive skin flare-ups.
Your Weekly Skin Care Routine:
Your daily skin care routine is vital to remove make-up, excess dirt, traces of oil and corrects and balances the pH of your skin, keeping it moisturised and protected from the sun, however, a weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly skin treatment will give it an added boost and your esthetician will be able to advise you on what these should be but can include:
- Exfoliation
- Acid Peel
- Facial Mask
